Diet and Nutrition

diet-and-nutrition

A dietitian provides assistance and education for every day meal and exercise plans and provides advice and modified diet plans to treat health and medical conditions. Our dietitian is here to educate you and your family about healthy ways of living to reduce or maintain a healthy weight, cholesterol levels and detoxify our bodies to live a longer, healthier, more active lifestyle.

Dietitians are experts in food and nutrition and how it can best be used to manage health. Our dietitians are accredited as both nutritionists and dietitians, as recognised by the Dietitians Association of Australia.

It is the role of a dietitian to educate you and your family on healthy eating to achieve a high-quality of wellbeing. This can involve helping you to reduce or maintain a healthy weight, control cholesterol levels and develop strategies to live a healthier, more balanced lifestyle. We also provide advice for food intolerances and allergies, Coeliac disease, diabetes, fussy eating (paediatrics) and many other conditions.

Many people have become accustomed to eating prepackaged, processed foods that have little in the way of nutrient content. Refined foods put individuals at greater risk for many health problems including heart disease, diabetes and obesity. Dietitians are equipped to educate clients about food for wellbeing and optimal health at every age.

Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs) have the qualifications and skills to provide expert nutrition and dietary advice. APDs are university-qualified professionals that undertake ongoing training and education programs to ensure that they are your most up-to-date and credible source of nutrition information, in line with DAA Professional Standards.

APDs are trained to assess nutritional needs. They also assist people to manage health conditions and diseases through diet. APDs help treat a wide range of conditions including diabetes, heart disease, cancers, gastrointestinal diseases, food allergies, food intolerance’s, disordered eating as well as overweight and obesity.
